Jussie Smollett was seen leaving the court after he was discharged from prison following his capture for documenting a false police report.
The Empire performing artist was in a Chicago court on Thursday evening for a bond hearing after which he left the court with security encompassing him as cameramen struggled to get his photograph.
As per reports, Jussie is back on the arrangement of Empire following his discharge from prison.
The on-screen character’s case has gotten a great deal of consideration and much more since the Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson revealed during the question and answer session on Thursday morning, Jussie arranged the assault on himself as an “exposure stunt”.
Eddie Johnson stated:
I just wish that the families of gun violence in this city got this much attention, because that’s who really deserves the amount of attention that we’re giving to this particular incident.
First, Smollett attempted to gain attention by sending a false letter that relied on racial, homophobic and political language. When that didn’t work, Smollett paid $3,500 to stage this attack and drag Chicago’s reputation through the mud in the process. And why? This stunt was orchestrated by Smollett because he was dissatisfied with his salary, so he concocted a story about being attacked.
He also stated.
This announcement today recognizes that Empire actor Jussie Smollett took advantage of the pain and anger of racism to promote his career. Why would anyone, especially an African-American use a noose…to further his public profile?
